Terento at Plan de Corones – South Tyrol

South Tyrol's no. 1 ski resort

Kronplatz/Plan de Corones is a 2,257 m high mountain. The tourism region of Kronplatz/Plan de Corones comprises the villages Brunico, Riscone, S. Vigilio di Marebbe, Valdaora, S. Lorenzo, Val Casies, Rasun / Anterselva, Chienes, Falzes, Villa Ottone, Perca, Monguelfo, Tesido and Terento.

Advantages of the Plan de Corones holiday region:
  • The Plan de Corones holiday region is very attractive from a landscape point of view and extends across an altitude of between 786 m and 1650 m above sea level.
  • In winter, Plan de Corones is one of the most renowned and biggest ski resorts in South Tyrol. 110 km of perfectly groomed slopes, South Tyrol's biggest snowboard park and modern cable cars offer ideal prerequisites for carefree winter pleasures on snow!
  • Three of the seven Nature Parks in South Tyrol are located within the Plan de Corones holiday region: the Fanes-Senes-Braies Nature Park, the Puez-Odle Nature Park, and the Vedrette di Ries Nature Park.
  • Concordia 2000 is the name of the bell on the summit of Plan de Corones. The bell was built to honour the development pioneers of Plan de Corones and is dedicated to S. Bernard, the patron saint of mountain and ski sports. This bell is one of the biggest in the entire alpine region. It weighs 18.1 tons, measures 3 metres in diameter and is 3.11 m in height. A 500 kg heavy copper clapper rings the bell in C sharp. The Concordia 2000 was conceived as a Peace Bell. The Latin imprint "Donet deus populis pacem" means "May God bring peace to all nations". In addition to the normal times on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 12.10 p.m., the bell also rings anytime the death penalty is abolished in a country, whenever a prisoner on death row is pardoned, and at the end of a war.
